About Studio XIII
The Beginning
Studio XIII was founded by Ar.Snehal Hannurkar and Ar.Pushkaraj Karakat in 2007 in Belgaum, Karnataka. It is based in Goa since 2009, drawing inspiration from Goa's rich cultural heritage landscapes and evolving built environment.Â
Studio XIII was established to create a design practice focused on architecture, urban design, and interior design following a multidisciplinary approach in the design process. The ultimate goal is to create design experiences that tell a story—a story about the space, the place, people, materials, light and emotions, while responding meaningfully to their purpose,, context and budget through meticulous attention to detail.
Our Vision
The Practice
At its core, Studio XIII is also a think tank where research and innovation challenge conventional design approaches. By combining traditional architectural wisdom with contemporary technologies, responsible material choices and circular construction methods, and impeccable attention to detail, we create environmentally conscious buildings and spaces that are rooted in place and support a more sustainable way of life.
Â
The practice is equally committed to collaborative research and experimentation through partnerships with universities, researchers, and international institutions, with a particular focus on biobased materials, circular construction systems, and the integration of research into real-time architectural projects.
Our Mission
We bridge the old and the new, the traditional and the contemporary, through the thoughtful integration of technology and conscious circular design practices, creating a sense of belonging rooted in place.
